Laughing
Out Loud:A Creative Response to a Crazy World Fulbright Senior Specialist (2001-2005) and social satirist Janice Perry has created nine original solo works since 1981, touring in Western Europe and the USA. Perry's lectures and workshops have developed from twenty years of performance and teaching. Perry uses her extraordinary performance skills to take her audience on a lively and provocative tour of issues and events that have had a profound effect on the international community. Perry reflects on the artist's responsibility to address social concerns, crossing national and cultural boundaries, illustrating her lectures with excerpts from past performance pieces, a few key props and costumes. Perry celebrates High Culture and Pop icons, using humor and satire to cross boundaries, promoting international communication and understanding. She celebrates our similarities as well as our differences - within and without our own cultures. See also Recommendations |
